About Melt

Why this exists, and who deserves credit for the idea

What Melt is

Melt is a pay-to-rank leaderboard. Bid to raise your listing's position, and watch your score decay toward a floor over time — so the board stays alive instead of freezing around whoever paid first.

Credit where it's due

Melt is directly inspired by outbid.lol, created by Jonathan Wilke, an independent developer in Germany and the founder of supastarter. He built outbid.lol's original pay-to-rank concept and launched it — it's a genuinely clever mechanic, and Melt wouldn't exist without it.

The decay-toward-a-floor mechanic — scores melting down toward a guaranteed baseline instead of staying fixed — is our own addition on top of that inspiration.

Why build another one

The mechanic is simple enough to be worth reimplementing and iterating on — different categories, live click/share stats, social previews, and a UI we could keep shaping. Nothing here is meant to compete with or misrepresent the original.
